Unified Maritime Digital Solutions Platform

Kongsberg Maritime has unveiled a harmonised digital solutions portfolio and launched KM Performance, a new platform intended to improve operational efficiency, emissions reporting, and regulatory compliance for marine transportation and fleet operators. The consolidated digital solutions framework integrates legacy systems into a unified, data-centric architecture suited for performance analysis and voyage optimisation.

Consolidated Digital Ecosystem for Fleet Operations
The new digital portfolio represents a strategic shift in how Kongsberg Maritime supports vessel and fleet operations by unifying previously separate software tools  including K-IMS, Vessel Insight, K-Fleet and Coach into a single integrated ecosystem under the company’s Digital Ocean initiative. This harmonised architecture is built on a common data foundation to enhance data transparency, consistency, and quality across onboard, onshore, and cloud-based applications. Such integration aims to provide operators with a reliable, consistent operational picture and help reduce the complexity associated with fragmented digital systems.

KM Performance: Supporting the Full Voyage Cycle
KM Performance is the first solution area delivered within the unified portfolio and is designed to support vessel performance management across the full voyage lifecycle, from pre-planning and execution to post-voyage reporting, analysis, and compliance. By combining high-integrity sensor data with validated manual inputs, the platform generates an operational overview that supports decision-making and benchmark performance against plan and regulatory requirements.

The platform incorporates analytical features and operational tools such as dynamic trim optimisation, weather-informed route planning, hull performance analytics, fuel consumption monitoring, and automated emissions reporting. These capabilities are aimed at enhancing predictability, reducing fuel use and emissions, and maintaining readiness for evolving environmental regulations affecting marine transport.

Technical and Industry Context
The introduction of a unified digital solutions portfolio aligns with broader industry trends in maritime digitalisation, where operators seek to leverage data and analytics to improve vessel efficiency and meet regulatory and sustainability demands. By consolidating disparate systems into a coherent data-driven ecosystem, operators can streamline workflows, increase decision visibility, and simplify compliance reporting across global fleets.

Kongsberg Maritime plans to expand the consolidated digital portfolio with additional solution areas through 2026, extending the capabilities of its digital ecosystem to serve broader segments and operational needs within the maritime domain.
