The Bundeswehr has placed a new order worth several hundred million euros with Rheinmetall for 120 mm tank ammunition, expanding purchases under an existing framework agreement. Framework Agreement Supports Long-Term Stock Replenishment
The procurement falls under a framework contract that the Bundeswehr extended in July 2023, increasing its total potential value to approximately €4 billion and covering deliveries through 2030. Under this agreement, Germany can acquire several hundred thousand rounds of 120 mm x 570 ammunition of multiple types, ensuring sustained availability for both operational readiness and training requirements.
This long-term arrangement provides continuity for Rheinmetall’s production planning and secures a stable supply of high-quality ammunition for the armed forces.
