Northrop Grumman starts integrating and testing NASA's HALO

Northrop Grumman Corporation and NASA marked a key milestone, enabling integration and testing to begin on the Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO) module for Gateway: humanity’s first space station in deep space and an integral part of the Artemis campaign. The HALO core structure arrived in Arizona on April 1 from supplier Thales Alenia Space in Turin, Italy. With the arrival of the core structure, Northrop Grumman will start outfitting the module with systems that allow astronauts to live and thrive in deep space.

“We are making significant progress on HALO, the first home for humans to live for extended periods near the Moon,” said Brandon White, vice president and general manager, tactical space systems, Northrop Grumman. “Our HALO team is dedicated to furthering human exploration of deep space by delivering safe and reliable systems that teach us what we need to know for journeys to Mars.”
