BAE Systems’ FalconWorks division has signed a Framework Agreement with SURVICE Engineering to collaborate on the development of uncrewed air system (UAS) technologies. The agreement expands an existing partnership originally established in 2015 with Malloy Aeronautics, acquired by BAE Systems in 2024.
Expanding Cooperation in Tactical UAS
Under the new agreement, BAE Systems and SURVICE Engineering will explore joint development opportunities across a broader portfolio of small and tactical UAS platforms. The collaboration extends beyond the existing uncrewed logistics capability to additional defence and security applications.
The earlier cooperation focused on Malloy Aeronautics’ T-150 all-electric logistics platform, which SURVICE Engineering supplies in support of U.S. Armed Forces requirements, including the U.S. Marine Corps. The T-150 is designed for cargo resupply missions, providing uncrewed aerial logistics capability in contested or hard-to-reach environments.
The updated Framework Agreement aims to expand collaboration to additional mission profiles and system architectures within the small and tactical UAS category.
Integration of Industrial and Operational Expertise
FalconWorks, BAE Systems’ advanced research and rapid development division, contributes systems engineering, prototyping and integration capabilities. SURVICE Engineering provides operational support and specialist combat equipment solutions to U.S. defence customers.
By combining platform development with operational feedback from deployed environments, the partnership is intended to accelerate technology maturation and alignment with end-user requirements.
Strategic Focus on Uncrewed Air Systems
The agreement aligns with BAE Systems’ broader strategy to expand its presence in uncrewed and autonomous systems. Defence organizations are increasingly deploying UAS for logistics, reconnaissance, force protection and mission support, driving demand for scalable and adaptable platforms.
Through this Framework Agreement, the companies aim to advance small and tactical UAS technologies to meet evolving national and international defence and security needs, while building on an established logistics platform foundation.
