Liebherr showcases aerospace systems & services at Singapore Airshow 2026

Liebherr-Aerospace will present a broad range of aerospace systems, technologies, and service capabilities at the Singapore Airshow 2026, held from 3–8 February at the Changi Exhibition Centre. At booth C-M65, the company will focus on solutions addressing aircraft electrification, aerodynamic efficiency, and more sustainable in-service support across commercial aviation platforms.

Electromechanical actuators for future aircraft architectures
A central theme of Liebherr-Aerospace’s exhibition is its portfolio of electromechanical actuators (EMA) for commercial aircraft. Building on decades of operational experience and millions of flight hours, the company has expanded its EMA family to cover applications ranging from large and medium commercial aircraft to smaller platforms.

The scalable EMA concept is designed to accommodate limited installation space while maintaining a favorable power-to-weight ratio and high operational reliability. In addition to conventional aircraft, the actuator architecture targets emerging segments such as Advanced Air Mobility, as well as light aircraft, business aviation, and rotorcraft.

Air cycle machines supporting next-generation cabin systems
Liebherr will also highlight its air cycle machines with air bearing technology, a core component of aircraft air-conditioning packs. These turbo machines support cabin pressurization and thermal comfort and have demonstrated long-term reliability in commercial service.

As aircraft architectures evolve, Liebherr’s air cycle machine designs are intended to support future electrically or mechanically driven configurations, moving beyond traditional pneumatic concepts while maintaining performance and durability requirements.

Wing folding mechanisms for extended-span designs
To support aircraft concepts with longer and thinner wings aimed at reducing CO₂ emissions, Liebherr develops folding wingtip mechanisms compatible with existing airport infrastructure. At the show, the company will demonstrate a scaled functional model illustrating how extended wingspans can be accommodated through upward-folding wing tips.

Expanded MRO capabilities in Asia-Pacific
Liebherr-Singapore Pte Ltd serves as the company’s regional maintenance, repair, and overhaul hub for Asia-Pacific customers. Ongoing investments have expanded in-house repair capabilities, including a new high-performance hydraulic test cell and dedicated overhaul facilities for heat transfer equipment.

By performing repairs within the region, customers benefit from shorter turnaround times and reduced logistics-related emissions associated with overseas component transport.

REACh-compliant surface treatment processes
In December 2025, Liebherr-Aerospace industrialized a REACh-compliant protection coating process for heat transfer equipment at its Singapore service center. The trivalent chromium system and post-application conversion sealer provide corrosion resistance and paint adhesion comparable to legacy treatments, while meeting European environmental regulations.

The same compliant processes are planned for additional service locations, including the Shanghai facility in the first quarter of 2026, as well as licensed third-party repair sites.

Through its Singapore Airshow presence, Liebherr-Aerospace positions its technologies and services as building blocks for future aircraft programs and more sustainable global support operations.
